some new "Tuvan" stamps also started to appear with the overprinted "Tuvan" stamps. Some of us (ok, I was naive) hoped that some of these were real. Since the government in Tuva had wished to produce stamps, perhaps they did a primitive job locally in spite of Moscow's wishes. Alas it was not so. Some of these labels are cute though...especially the ones giving homage to the real Tuvan stamps of the 1930's. But folks weren't content just being "cute"... |
